Articles in the New York Times and Datamation
When it rains it pours. Recently I was approached by James Maguire from Datamation to talk about my experience with SourceForge. I’ve been hosting Gallery on SourceForge in one form or another for over seven years now, so they wanted to get a little supporting material about how SourceForge works for users. The result is this article which is pretty cool.
But even cooler than that, about two months ago I heard from Julie Bick, Jen’s roommate from Wharton. Julie has been writing articles for the New York Times about all kinds of fun topics. Recently she’s had a series of articles called “Preoccupations” where she gives readers a behind-the-scenes view into corporate life. I read through her article about laptops in meetings at Microsoft and thought it was great so I was game to talk about Google. Julie interviewed me over the phone and then together we wrote up an article about how Google engineers use their 20% time to do some amazing things: The Google Way: Give Engineers Room. Check it out!
