She talks!
Ally has really started communicating over the last couple of weeks. It’s pretty amazing to watch. She clearly says banana and kitty (after being enthralled with my parents’ cat last week). She also seems to say Mama and Dada and something that sounds like Doh for Cole. She plays a game that gets both her and Cole into hysterics - they shake their heads back and forth, one after the other. Just like Cole did at this age, she plays peekaboo by covering her cheeks or ears but not her eyes.
We celebrated her birthday down in the Pinnacles with my sister and her family. Hard to believe she’s really one. We made it! We had a fun day down there - Cole and Cora were troopers, managing a two mile hike. They had fun with the tadpoles and lizards and caves and big boulders. It’s beautiful.
Cole had so much fun at my parents last week, getting a ride in a real fire truck (around the parking lot), seeing a beaver lodge and some Canada geese, having a picnic and playing on the playground with my cousin Steve (an adult) and his 14 year old son Ryan. How nice to be there when it wasn’t 10 degrees outside. I think we wore out my parents after a week but I know they enjoyed seeing the kids (oh yeah, and me). Getting through the hour-long security line in Boston with both kids and no help was interesting. I finally sweet talked my way into the express line. We made the flight but without much time to spare.
