One month later…

I can’t believe we haven’t added to this in over a month. Ack. In that time, classical music has become big and FAT, Ally has gotten a few more teeth and has stood unassisted for about ten seconds. She also finally figured out how to sit down after pulling up (thankfully!). The crazy kid had five front teeth (2 on the bottom, 3 on the top) then got a molar in February. She just got a fourth top tooth and third on the bottom and she’s working on another molar. She often holds her jaw a little off to the side as well so she always looks a little crooked.

Cole had a great time when the wisteria seed pods exploded this spring. Every year, on the first couple of hot days, the pods explode and the seeds go zinging, as far as 30 feet away. Fortunately, we were home when it was happening one afternoon so we sat on the front steps (Cole sat crisscross applesauce) and watched. When the first one went, he applauded vigorously and laughed and laughed! What a show. He thought the whole thing was pretty darned cool.

One night, I told him that we were going to go to the car wash the next day. He got very quiet then finally said, “But Mommy, it won’t fit.” I asked what wouldn’t fit. He said, “The car won’t fit in the washing machine!”

He asked me what is all over a crocodile and I explained that they are scales. He went and got his play scale from his kitchen to compare. It took me a good ten minutes to figure out why.

Ally’s been pretty clearly saying a few words - the clearest is banana. She also plays peekaboo with her hands and plays the “so big” game. But nobody can make her laugh as much Cole can.

Only a couple of weeks til Ally’s first birthday (Cole is very excited about making a cake with me). Who could have predicted how fast this year has gone? We are looking forward to a trip east to see Grandmom and Grandpop - after I go on my yearly sojourn to New York without Bharat or the kids.
