Ally’s 9 month checkup and the end of an era

Ally had her 9 month checkup on Friday - she’s growing like a weed. 28.5 inches (75th percentile) and 18 pounds, 13 ounces (50th percentile). Now she can eat cheese and yogurt and the like. So far, she’s eaten everything we’ve tried. Yum yum!

Cole figured out how to climb out of his crib this week. Bummer. He climbed out of the pack and play a few weeks ago and Ally’s crib last week, so we knew it was only a matter of time. We’ll see how often he does it - it might be time for a big kid bed. Ack…an uncontained two year old.

They had snow day at school today. Somehow, they trucked in a bunch of snow and the deprived little California kids got to play with it. Cole was very excited about bringing his mittens to school.

I’ve been taking Ally to a research study at Stanford where they’re looking at memory in 9 month olds. They show them three toys three times over a week then a week later they see how much they remember. It’ll be interesting to see what happens. So far, she’s been very attentive and focused on what they’ve shown her. Hmmm…is she like her focused brother?
